Data deletion

If you have sent us something — a message, a story, a question — you can ask us to remove it. This page explains how.

How to request deletion

Send a message to our Facebook page putitout.

Write briefly “delete data” and what should go — for example “the story I sent in September”, or everything you have sent us.

You don’t need to give any personal details beyond what we need to find your text.

What we delete

We delete everything you have sent us and that we hold: messages, stories and notes. You get confirmation in the same channel you wrote in.

Why it can’t be done with one click

We have no user accounts, so there is no profile to “delete”. The only thing that exists is what you sent us yourself — and we remove that on your request.

If the text is already on the site

If you sent a story and it is published, tell us and we take it down. We have no way of knowing which text is yours unless you tell us.

Third parties

Data held by Facebook, Google or Cloudflare we cannot delete for you — you remove that in your own settings or by contacting them directly.
